“The Amazing Race;” Buenos Aires, Argentina Season 20, ep. 2 recap.

Rachel & Dave, the “Married couple” departed first at 2:46 am, since they were the first team to check in at the last pit stop. They were closely followed by the “Big Brother” couple, Brendon & Rachel, “Border Patrols” Art & J.J, “Federal Agents” Nary & Jamie, “Dating divorced couple” Vanessa & Ralph, “Twins” Elliot & Andrew, “Cousins” Kerri & Stacy, “Clowns” Dave & Cherie, “Friends” Mark & Bopper and “Friends” Joey & Danny.

The first clue of the episode instructed the teams to drive to Cafayate Town Square and find a the mounted horseman who will hand them their next clue. The mounted horseman comes in at dawn, so the teams caught up with each other. The next clue the teams received was a detour clue, they two options either do the “Boil My Water” task or “Light A Fire” task.

“Boil My Water”, the teams were required to build a solar kitchen, with the guide of a picture, and boil a kettle of water using solar energy and wait until the kettle whistles. While “Light A Fire” on the hand, instructed the teams to gather some clay and firewood by the river bank, load it on a Donkey, and lead it to a local pottery workshop a mile away. Every team except the “Border Patrols” chose the “Boil My Water” detour. The challenges of the “Boil My Water” task was to put together a solar kitchen by using a mere picture and waiting on the sun to boil a kettle of water.

All the teams arrived at their detour locations on time, while Art & J.J. fell behind while trying to find “The Amazing Race” marker that will lead them to  the “Light A Fire” place. Luckily the “Border Patrols” had some help, and were the second team to finished the detour task.  The Southern men were in first place. The next task requested the teams to board a 18 hours bus to Buenos Aires. The bus each team rode depended on the time they arrived at the bus terminal. The teams were divided on three buses. Art & J.J. Brendon & Rachel, Mark & Bopper and Rachel & Dave rode on the first bus while the teams on the second bus were the “Clowns,” “Jersey Boys,” “Dating divorced couple, ” and the “Twins.” That left the “Cousins” and the “Federal Agents” on the last bus to Buenos Aires.

On the way to Buenos Aires the second teams’ bus had a minor difficulty, which made Kerri, Stacy, Nary, and Jamie’s bus the second bus to arrive in Buenos Aires. Although Kerri, Stacy, Nary and Jamie were unaware when one of the buses broke down. Upon arriving at Buenos Aires, Rachel & Dave were the first team to find the next clue at Mercado De Hacienda De Liniers. The next task was a roadblock challenge. The task “Where is the beef?” required a member of each team to count the number of cattle in one of the corrals and calculate the average weight per cattle after an auctioneer yelled out the total weight of the cattle. The calculation had to be completed before the auctioneer move to another corral. The challenges of the roadblock were to calculate the average weight of the cattle without a calculator while the auction was going on.

After a few attempts, the teams realized they could not solve the task by themselves so they worked together. Rachel and J.J partnered up, while “Big Brother” Rachel and Mark worked together. The next clue which was handed to the Rachel and J.J. because they were the first team to finish the roadblock, instructed the teams to hail a taxi to El Gomero, the pit stop for this leg of the race. Once again Rachel and Dave were the first team to arrive at the pit stop, closely followed by the “Border Patrol, southern friends, and Brenchel (Brendon & Rachel).

Immediately as all the teams on the first bus checked in with Phil, the last bus rolled in. Joey and Andrew  solved the roadblock together leaving Dave, the “Married Clowns” in last place.  Dave, a member of the “Clowns” had some difficulty solving the roadblock.  This made the “Clowns” the last team to check in with Phil making them the second team eliminated. The “Federal Agents” lied to their fellow competitors that they are Teachers.

Rant:

J.J. and Art complain so much, it is annoying. The setback was only twenty minutes.  They eventually made up the time; they need to relax and enjoy their experience. I’m sad to see the “Clowns” leave, they were my underdogs. :( The “Cousins” are so adorable, cheering while they checked in with Phil. Rachel, known for crying all the time in the “Big Brother” house and breaking down did not disappoint me this week by having a minor breakdown. Lastly,we have not really seen the “Jersey Boys” thrive in the challenges. It seems like they are at a disadvantage at every task they are required to do.

I still have do not favorite team yet, do you?” The funny lines of the night were “this is the amazing exercise,” “I’m sorry I am just a girl” and “son of a monkey’s uncle.”   Who do you think will come first during the next leg? Am i the only one who predicts a fight between Brendon and the “Border Patrols?” Same time next week, see you then.

“The Amazing Race” airs Sundays on CBS at 8 EST.

“The Amazing Race;” Santa Barbara, Argentina season 20, ep. 1 recap.

I finally caught up with “The Amazing Race,” sorry it took so long. The race of course started with Phil saying “travel safe” and “go”. The teams consist of the usual: friends, lovers, married couples, sisters, and cousins. The first clue was hidden in a mini hot balloon. These teams were the first to find the clue: Art and J.J., Brenchel (Rachel and Brendon), Dave & Rachel, Nary & Jamie, Elliot & Andrew and Vanessa & Ralph. The first six teams were on an earlier flight to Santa Barbara, Argentina, while the remaining teams were on a later flight. The southern friends and the sisters had some difficulty finding their first clue. It took the sisters (Misa & Maiya) an hour and 44 mins to find their first clue. They made up the time by joining the latter teams: Mark & Bopper, Joey & Danny, David & Cherrie, and Kerri & Stacy on the second fight.

Upon arriving in Santa Barbara, the teams were faced with a road block. One of the teammate was to skydive at 10,000 feet while the other was to find his or her teammate at the destination where they land. Some of the teammates were excited while some were about to shit their pants (J.J). The challenges of this road block were to drive a stick (non automatic gear) in Argentina and to skydive at a 10,ooo feet. A couple of the racers, Danny and Dave had some problems diving a stick. One of the sisters – I can’t remember her name – got stuck in a quick sand while looking for “The Amazing Race” marker. This left the sisters in last place once again.

For the next and last challenge, the teams were asked to make sixty Empanadas filled with cheese and sixty Empanadas filled with meat. The first team to finish the task was Rachel & Dave, and they got the free pass; a pass to skip any task they do not want to participate in the future. Rachel and Brendon came in second, while J.J and Art came third. Joey and Danny had some setback during this task. Danny apparently does not cook, and he kept making the Empanadas incorrectly. Eventually, everyone got the Empanadas task done and checked in with Phil. The sisters (Misa and Maiya) were the first team eliminated. Although Misa & Maiya finished the last task before the “Jersey boys” (Joey and Danny), they could not find Steve to check in and that cost them the race.

Rant:

J.J complains a lot. I mean what did he expect when he signed up for the show? I love the southern men’s accent, i think its sexy and cute. Mark and Bopper have a lot of energy, I hope it helps them during the race. The reason this show is so great is because people get to face their fears and conquer them. For example, Stacy faced and conquered her fear of height.

The Border Patrols are an interesting team. In my opinion, the SouthernS, Mark and Bopper and the clowns, Dave and Cherie are the underdogs this season. I am surprised Rachel has not broken down yet. Also, I am disappointed that we did not see much of the Federal Agents during this episode. I’m not sure which team I’m rooting for yet. Do you have your favorite team already? Let us know.

Below is the trailer for the next episode. Take a peek.

“The Amazing Race” airs Sundays on CBS at 8 EST.

Once Again, The Women Won The Loser Award ‘Survivor: One World’ Ep. 2 Recap!

As soon as the girls came back from tribal council, Alicia and Christina talked about their misunderstanding at tribal council. They both apologized to each other and ‘fakely’ hugged it out, but I do not see them as bff’s in the future. The next day, Sabrina was elected as the group leader. Nina, the oldest woman on the team tried to find somewhere to belong in the group because if you ask me, she looks like an outlier.

The first challenge of the day was that both teams played was to untie a rope. How hard can that be? Well, it had a bunch of  complicated knots. The reward for winners was a tarp. Who won the challenge? The men, of course. The women needed the tarp like ‘a fat kid needs cake’ but they could not win it. When both teams returned to the island, the men immediately used the tarp. During this time, Colton did not do anything to help the men. As a matter of fact, he has not been helping his team at all. COME ON, Colton! I mean, you might not like your team but dude if you do not start interacting and helping, you will be gone the moment you no longer have the power to protect yourself. Colton kept going to the girl’s side of the island and hallelujah, Sabrina finally got irritated by this. Colton pleaded and begged for a shelter with the girls but they rejected him. Later that night, Colton told a couple of guys that he had the immunity idol. Wrong move, Colton, wrong move.

The challenge for the group immunity idol finally came the next day. The challenge’s theme was to maintain balance. Who won? The men AGAIN! The women had no rhythm, no sense of direction and they lacked communication. I guess it is tribal council numero doz, chicas! When the women got back to the island, Kat who performed the worst, immediately showed remorse for her poor actions. Nina, on the other hand, talked to few of the women about evicting Kat.

During tribal council, Nina threw Kat under the bus by saying that she lacks the physical, mental and emotional strength. Kat threw Christina under the bus by saying that she is basically an unwanted weight to the team. It is funny because when Kat wanted to call Christina out, she began her statement with “I don’t want to call anyone out but Christina……” What? Really? Well, you just did. To conclude tonight’s tribal council, Nina surprisingly went home. I taught Kat was going home; 5 days down, many more to go!

To find out if Kat presents crocodile tears to her team as a sign of gratitude for saving her ass, tune in same time, same channel, next Wednesday for more “Survivor!” Chao!

In the last episode of ‘Supernatural’, Sam and Dean were looking for a demon named Marick. Marick is a demon that hunts and kills women. In order to get the name of the demon (Marick), the Winchester brothers performed an exorcism on a guy named Jeffery. While Sam and Dean were busy trying to find Marick, Sam had his own personal issues bothering him. Sam soul room-mate, Lucifer returned! Normally, Sam gets rid of Lucifer by putting pressure on his palm. This action disconnects him from Lucifer. This time, it did not work. When Sam realized that he could not get rid of Lucifer at the moment, he ignored him.

Meanwhile, Jeffery convinced Dean into trusting him and his information about the demon’s (Marick) whereabouts and plans. What Dean did not know was that he was part of the plan to summon the demon that possessed Jeffery. By the time Sam and Lucifer figured out what was going on, Dean was already strapped to a chair in an abandoned building. Jeffery believed that he was at his best when he was possessed. So, Jeffery decided to summon the demon again with a ritual. He killed that poor little cute dog and use its heart, Dean’s blood and an abracadabra spell for the ritual.
