
What happens when a young female writer who lives in the big Apple and is financially cut off from her parents? Well, we will find out when “Girls” kicks off in a couple of weeks. “Girls” is a forthcoming comedy series on HBO. The series follows a couple of early 20′s years old friends as they discover their sexuality, self-esteem, adulthood and friendships in New York City. Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture) created the series and is an executive producer with Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner. This awkward, sarcastic comedy was inspired by Dunham’s real-life experiences. … Hannah (Lena Dunham), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), a space cadet, who wants to be an artist/educator, Marnie (Allisom Williams), is the responsible friend of the group, Hannah’s best friend and an ambitious assistant at a political PR firm, Adam (Adam Driver); Hannah’s boyfriend, Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), is Jessa’s cousin and roommate.
