‘Sullivan & Son’ Renewed For a Second Season

Bottoms up! TBS has ordered a second season of “Sullivan & Son.” The second season of 10-episode is schedule to debut in 2013, the TBS announced today.

Steve Byrne stars as a corporate attorney in “Sullivan & Son,” who returns home to take over his family’s bar.

“Sullivan & Son has gotten off to a strong start, quickly building its own fan base,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “We’ve had a great time working with Steve Byrne, Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley, Rob Long and the wonderful cast and crew of “Sullivan & Son,” and we look forward to seeing the show continue to grow in 2013.”

The comedy series airs Thursdays at 10/9c on TBS.

Report: Marc Anthony To Mentor on ‘X Factor.’

It looks like Marc Anthony will be appearing on “The X Factor.” TMZ reports, Anthony has signed a deal to mentor Simon Cowell’s team.

Anthony joins previously announced celebrity mentor, Justin Bieber, who is teaming up with LA Reid on the second season of “X Factor.” However, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato’ celebrity mentors are yet to be announced.

“The X Factor” launches Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 8/7c on Fox.

FX Reveals Fall Premiere Schedule

Sons of Anarchy

FX has announced its fall premiere dates.

Kicking things off this fall is “Sons of Anarchy.” The drama bows out Sept. 11 at 10/9c, FX announced today. While comedies: “The League,” “It;s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” and “Brand X” premiere on Oct. 17.

As previously announced, American Horror Story: Asylum will premiere at 10 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 4 Promo: Elena’s In Transition

A new promo for The Vampire Diaries, shows Elena in transition, while Bonnie (Kat Graham) trying to save her from becoming one.

Damon declares, in the promo below, Elena has to feed on human blood or die. Meanwhile, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are fighting as usual.

“Vampire Diaries” premieres Oct. 11 at 8/7c on The CW.

STARZ Picks Up Historical Drama, ‘White Queen’

STARZ is locking up its 2013 schedule with Philippa Gregory’s international best-selling trilogy, ‘The Cousins of War.”

“The White Queen,” a 10-episode order, is expected to premiere in 2013. Colin Callender, will serve as an executive producer on the series.

“Phillipa Gregory’s novels have become runaway best sellers with passionate fans the world over, making this a project ripe for reimagining,” said Carmi Zlotnik, Managing Director of Original Programming, for Starz, LLC.  “The period of England’s Wars of the Roses makes for a sensational historical backdrop as a time fraught with violence, mystery and intrigue.”

The series is about the thrilling story of the women caught up in the ongoing conflict for the throne – they are some of the most ruthless players in history and will stop at nothing to support their own causes and those of the ones they love. It is a stunningly rich tale of love and loss, seduction and deception, betrayal and murder, vibrantly woven through the stories of three different yet equally driven women, in their quest for power as they manipulate behind the scenes of history – Elizabeth Woodville, Margaret Beaufort and Anne Neville.

Max Irons (Red Riding Hood) will play Edward IV, the King of England, while “True Blood” alum James Frain will play his master manipulator Lord Warwick.Rebecca Fer guson will play Elizabeth Woodville, Edward’s new bride, with Oscar and Tony winner Janet McTeer has been cast as her sorceress mother.

The cast of “The White Queen” also includes: Amanda Hale, Faye Marsay, David Oakes, Juliet Aubrey, Eleanor Tomlinson, Frances Tomelty, Michael Maloney, Ben Lamb, Hugh Mitchell, Simon Ginty, Eve Ponsenby, and Robert Pugh.

The series joins STARZ’s upcoming shows Da Vinci’s “Demons,” “Black Sails” and “Marco Polo.” White Queen will film in Bruges, Belgium, and premiere next year on Starz.

Jillian Michaels Returns to ‘The Biggest Loser’

Jillian Michaels will return to the “The Biggest Loser” next January to fight childhood obesity.

NBC announced today, the fourteenth season of “The Biggest Loser” will feature adults contestant and kid participants between the ages of 13-17, however the young teens won’t compete for the titular prize.

For the first time ever, the upcoming season will tackle childhood obesity epidemic, with the help of Michaels, Harper and Quince.

The contestants will be divided into three teams and coached by the “Losers’” trainers. In addition, at least a teen will be paired with a team. The children, who are ineligible for elimination will compete with and contribute to their respective teams.

Michaels, the new mother of two said in a statement, “as a former overweight teen, I know firsthand how dramatically weight issues can affect every aspect of a child’s life. Having recently become a mother of two, I am more passionate than ever about helping empower children and families with the information and resources they need to live a healthier life.”

Terrence J To Join Giuliana Rancic on E! News

Terrence Jenkins is moving up the ladder.

The former BET’s “106 and Park” host will join Giuliana Rancic as an anchor on E!’s weekly news. Terrence J will begin Co-anchoring starting November 12th, E! News announced today.

“I can’t wait to get started,” Jenkins said. “I’ve had a great career so far, and it’s all been building toward this.

Terrence J, who appeared in Think Like a Man, Burlesque, Sparkle, and BET’s “The Game” will replace Ryan Seacrest as an E! news host.

“I’ve always had a passion for the wide spectrum of pop culture that E! News covers so well,” Jenkins said.  “And then getting to work with great people like Giuliana and the entire E! News team just makes this seem like an even more perfect opportunity.”

Michael Strahan Joins Kelly on ‘Live’

It is official: Michael Strahan is the new host of “Live.”

The former New York Giants star jogged on set and gave Ripa a big bear hug, lifting her off her feet. “It’s so nice to have a co-host literally sweep you off your feet,” Ripa said. “I know that he can bench press me if he wanted to.”

“I adore you,” Strahan told his new co-worker. “I’m so happy to be here and a part of this. You know how you say it’s a dream come true, I truly can’t say that because I didn’t even know I could dream this.”

Strahan ends the year-long search of a new co host for Kelly. Strahan will now occupy a chair left vacant since November, when Regis Philbin departed the show after 28 years. Strahan new job, “Live with Kelly and Michael” reportedly, should not affect his weekly football show on Fox.
