TNT Orders The Rock’s Reality Show ‘The Hero’

TNT’s 2013 summer schedule is flexing up.

The cable company has ordered a 8-episode series named “The Hero,” which is set to premiere in summer 2013, TNT announced Wednesday.

“The Hero” -working title- will assign ten regular people to a variety of missions that will test their: brains, brawn and morality. The show will also challenge the competitors to prove they’ve got what it takes to be the “hero,” by pushing them to the limits (and beyond).

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, will serve as an executive-producer, host, mentor and motivator of the reality series.

“”The Hero” speaks to everything I believe in when it comes to challenging ourselves, to becoming better people every day and to making the right choices while growing from the wrong ones,” Johnson said in a statement.

NBC Pulls ‘Saving Hope,’ Final Episodes to Air Online

Saving Hope

NBC’s medical drama, “Saving Hope” might need a little saving.

According to THR, the peacock network has decided to pull “Saving Hope” from its schedule. The show’s final two episodes which were schedule to air Sept. 8 and 15 will be available online.

The series which was renewed by Canadian’s CTV network will be replaced by “American Got Talent” and “The Voice.”

Fall TV: NBC Releases ‘Revolution’ Pilot Online [Video]

Good news guys! NBC has released the pilot of the new post-apocalyptic drama “Revolution.”

“Revolution” follows a young woman Charlie Matheson played by Tracy Spiridakosa and her family- the one she is born into and the family she chooses- in a post-apocalyptic future where all technology ceases to function, and TV’s computers, and cars loses their use in the world.

The series picks up 15 years later, as the Mathesons race to the overthrow the militia, while they figure out what happened to the light fifteen years ago and ultimately return everything to normal.

The J.J. Abrams drama stars Billy Burke, Graham Rogers, Giancarlo Esposito, Anna Lise Phillips, Zak Orth as Aaron, Maria Howell and Elizabeth Mitchell.

According to poll, “Revolution” is one of the new shows you guys want to watch.

Tone Bell Joins ‘Whitney’ And More Casting News

Stand-up comedian Tone Bell has joined NBC’s sitcom “Whitney.”

According to TVLine, Tone Bell will play Alex’s buddy in the forthcoming season. Whitney Cummings told the site, Bell’s character, RJ is a “very sexy,  sort of new guy character friend” for her on-screen boyfriend played by Chris D’Elia.

Additionally, RJ “could maybe be a love interest” for the newly single, Zoe Lister Jones’ character Lily.

Bell recently appeared in VH1′s original series “Single Ladies.”

“Whitney” premieres Fri., Oct. 19 at 8/7c on NBC.

“Justified” actors David Meunier and David Andrews, has been tapped to recur in NBC’s J.J. Abrams drama “Revolution.” Meunier will recur as Strasser, a “psychotic” militiaman who works for General Monroe (David Lyons). Andrews, on the other hand, will play O’Halloran, a family man and former police officer. [EW]

‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 Poster Revealed

‘First the dead, Fear the living,’ that is the taglined of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” forthcoming season’s poster. The artwork features Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) standing atop an overturned bus in front of a prison. The Prison.

New characters: Michonne (Danai Gurira) and the Governor (David Morrissey) will be introduced in the 16-episode season which debuts Oct. 14. Click here for the trailer.

‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ New Poster Features Cast

American Horror Story: Asylum

The upcoming season of “American Horror Story: Asylum,” which bows out Wed., Oct 17 on FX will have a ton of new characters.

The new season takes place in 1964 at an institution full of Nazis, aliens, and nuns for the criminally insane, which is run by Jessica Lange’s character, Sister Jude. Monsignor Timothy O’Hara played by Joseph Fiennes is the object of Sister Jude’s desire.

But all is not rosy at the institution. There is a murderer named Bloody Face. He wears the skins of his victims as a mask.

The patients include Lana, a lesbian journalist played by Sarah Paulson; Kit, a patient committed after being accused of murdering his wife played by Evan Peters; and Chloe Sevigny as Shelley, a nymphomaniac.
