Just a week into the third season, “The Voice” is switching things up.

Due to the back-to-back seasons of the competitive realty series, R&B singer Usher and pop latina singer Shakira will replace Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green on the coaches’ panel for the upcoming/spring season, NBC announced Monday.

“We are thrilled to welcome Usher and Shakira to ‘The Voice.’ The addition of these popular iconic artists continues the tradition established by Christina, Cee Lo, Adam and Blake,” Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment said in a statement.

Christina is releasing a new album and going on tour, while and Cee Lo is creating a scripted comedy for NBC, and working on a new album. The two former coaches will return for the fifth season of the reality series.

“Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time, and we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina and Cee Lo, Greenblatt stated in a statement.

“The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
