It appears NBC has pulled the plug on “Next Caller.”

According to Deadline, the midseason comedy which stars Dane Cook has been cancelled. After filming four episodes, NBC executives decided that “creatively the series was not going in the direction they had hoped for” and halted production on the show.

The show was picked up for a season of six episodes, but the episodes that have already been produced will reportedly not make it to air.

The pilot starred Dane Cook as a misogynistic satellite radio DJ, with Collette Wolfe (“Cougar Town”) playing a feminist NPR commentator, and Cook’s co-host. With Jeffrey Tambor (“Arrested Development”) playing their boss, and Ryan Devlin (“Brothers & Sisters”) guest-starring as Cook’s nemesis.

The peacock network recently picked up comedies “Go On” and “The New Normal” for full seasons.
