
AMC’s “Hell on Wheels” has been renewed for a third season.
The Western drama series starring Anson Mount, Colm Meaney and Common has been renewed for a third season of 10-episode.
The series sophomore season finale aired to 2.2 million viewers.
[Update] According to EW, “Hell on Wheels” season 3 will be on hold as AMC searches for a new showrunner. John Shiban “The X-Files” alum stepped down as showrunner after the series was renewed.
“I’m very proud of our work on “Hell on Wheels” and was thrilled to hear the show would have a Season Three,” Shiban said in a statement. “I have since made the difficult decision that the time has come for me to leave. I care deeply about the series and will do whatever I can to aid in the transition to ensure the continued success of the show. I truly value all the time I have spent with this wonderful group of very talented people.”
