Fox picks up “Glee” for two seasons – season 5 and 6.

“”Glee” debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture,” Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said in a statement. “Week in and week out, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto and the entire Glee team deliver a series that not only delights and surprises fans, but also inspires them to talk about, share, debate and engage with the show — and I’m absolutely thrilled to have them on board for another two seasons.”

HBO cancels “Enlightened” after two seasons.

The critically acclaimed comedy series which starred Laura Dern as Amy, who is trying to get her life together has been cancelled by HBO.

“It was a very difficult decision,” said HBO in a statement. “We’ve decided not to continue ‘Enlightened’ for a third season. We’re proud of the show and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future.”

ABC Pulls ‘Zero Hour’ From Schedule

ABC’s freshman series “Zero Hour” has been canceled.

According to Deadline.com, the series starring  ”ER” alumni Anthony Edwards, has been canceled after airing three episodes. The drama series debuted to 6.3 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

Encores of “Shark Tank” will air for the next two weeks at 8/7c p.m., until “Wife Swap” returns on March 21 for a seven-week run and reality series “Wipeout” takes over on May 9.

TBS Drops The ‘Wedding Band’

TBS has cancelled “Wedding Band.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy series which starred Brian Austin Green, Harold Perrineau, Peter Cambor and Derek Miller will not return for a second season.

The hour-long musical comedy was about a group of friends who played at wedding receptions. The series ended its 10-episode run on Saturday.

TNT has green-light a new untitled private-eye drama starring Jon Tenney (“The Closer”) and Rebecca Romijn (“X-Men”), which is based on bestselling author David Baldacci‘s popular characters Sean King and Michelle Maxwell.

The network has ordered 10 episodes of the untitled series, which is slated to debut in summer 2013.

Cancelled: ‘Leverage’ To Air Series Finale on Christmas Day

TNT says farewell to “Leverage.”

The cable network announced Friday, it has decided to axe “Leverage” after five seasons.

TNT said in a statement: “”Leverage” has thrilled audiences with its delightfully intricate plots, its “stand up for the little guy” attitude and its terrific performances from stars Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge. But after five wonderful years, it’s time to say goodbye. “Leverage” will come to a close on Christmas, Tuesday, Dec. 25, at 10 p.m. ET, with a series finale that stands as one of the show’s best episodes.

We are honored to have worked with executive producer Dean Devlin, Electric Entertainment, creators John Rogers and Chris Downey, and all the cast and production crew on Leverage. We look forward to exploring new opportunities to work with them again in the future. We also want to thank the passionately devoted fans of Leverage, who have been the driving force behind its success.”

“Leverage’s” executive producer Dean Devlin hinted at the possibility of season 5 being its last.

Leverage series finale airs Dec., 25 at 10/9c on TNT.

Syfy: ‘Merlin,’ Being Human,’ ‘Face Off’ and More Winter Premiere Dates Announced

Syfy’s winter schedule, which features returning and new series – was announced today.

The network will debut “Merlin’s” fifth and final season on Jan. 1 at 10/9c.  Here is the synopsis of the season: ”With Queen Guinevere and the Knights of the Round Table at his side, Arthur has never felt stronger. But even as Camelot flowers, the seeds of its destruction are being sown.”

The third season of “Being Human” returns Monday, January 14 at 9/8c.  Season 3 guest stars includes: Mark Pellegrino, Amy Aquino, Xander Berkeley, Bobby Campo, and Kyle Schmid.

Meanwhile, “Lost Girl” season 3 debuts on Monday, January 14 at 10/9c; ”Face Off” returns with a 90-minute premiere on Tuesday, January 15 at 9/8c; “Total Blackout,” hosted by Jaleel White (“Family Matters”) debuts new episodes Tue., Jan. 15 at 10:30/9:30c; ”Ghost Hunters” ninth season premiere bows out Wednesday, January 16 at 9/8c; “Haunted Collector” season 3 kicks off Wednesday, March 6 at 9/8c.

While new original series:

“Continuum” Premieres Monday, January 14 at 8/7c.

The time-traveling police drama Continuum stars Rachel Nichols (“Star Trek,” “Criminal Minds”) as Kiera Cameron, a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in the present day. When a group of fanatical terrorists escapes their planned execution in 2077 by vaulting back in time to 2012, they inadvertently sweep along Kiera, a dedicated City Protective Services officer. With unexpected assistance from teen tech genius Alec Sadler, played by Erik Knudsen (“Jericho,” “Scream 4″), Kiera infiltrates the local police department and forms an uneasy alliance with her new partner, detective Carlos Fonnegra, portrayed by Victor Webster (“Castle,” “Melrose Place”). Though desperate to get back to her husband and son, Kiera concentrates on bringing down the terrorists before they change the course of history.

“Ghost Mine” Premieres Wednesday, January 16 at 10/9c.

Forgotten in the remote woods of Oregon is one of the richest gold mines in the United States that was abandoned 80 years ago when a series of tragedies gave it an infamous reputation for being haunted. Now, a new owner has decided to take on the notorious legend and reopen the mine, assembling a rag-tag group of miners – both seasoned and new – to battle the elements in hopes of finding their fortune and teaming them with a pair of experienced paranormal investigators. In each of the six hour-long episodes, this strong-willed and historically superstitious group of miners will face the day-to-day challenges of mining, aided by the paranormal investigators who unravel the mysteries surrounding the mine, including historic Masonic connections and a spirit who has been known to haunt the area for generations.

“Robot Combat League” Premieres Tuesday, February 26 at 10/9c.

Now, through ground-breaking engineering, the fusion of a human’s fighting spirit with a powerful machine built for destruction has become reality in “Robot Combat League.” This gripping new high-octane unscripted series puts a 21st century spin on gladiatorial combat with tournament-style battle between eight-feet tall, state-of-the-art humanoid robots whose movements are controlled by exo-suit clad human “robo-jockeys.” Twelve teams of two contestants – a fighter (the “robo-jockey”) and a robotics engineer (the “robo-tech”) – are paired with unique robots that clash in the ring for three rounds of intense action, with the winning team advancing in the tournament. “Robot Combat League” is hosted by Chris Jericho, the famed WWE wrestler and multifaceted performer.

“Stranded” Premieres Wednesday, February 27 at 10/9c.

An all-new six-episode reality series that documents an unconventional –- and terrifying -– paranormal and psychological experiment. Each hour-long episode features the self-recorded footage of a diverse group of every-day paranormal enthusiasts — from newlyweds and a brother-in-law to a trio of roommates. Each team of three will be stranded at one of the most haunted locations in America and record the entire experience with hand-held cameras. The footage from the subjects’ cameras will be supplemented by strategically-placed security cameras at each location, creating a suspenseful, completely unscripted first-hand account of each group’s stay. Over the course of the confinement, the subjects contend with increasingly pervasive feelings of fear and desolation, resulting in an experiment that represents a unique combination of psychology and the paranormal.
