TNT Orders Rebecca Romijn Pilot to Series, ‘Drop Dead Diva’ Cancelled, and More

TNT has green-light a new untitled private-eye drama starring Jon Tenney (“The Closer”) and Rebecca Romijn (“X-Men”), which is based on bestselling author David Baldacci‘s popular characters Sean King and Michelle Maxwell.

The network has ordered 10 episodes of the untitled series, which is slated to debut in summer 2013.

Grammy-winning  artist Alicia Keys will perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVII in N.O., Louisiana.

ABC pushed “Body of Proof” season 3 premiere by two weeks. The crime drama new season which was suppose to premiere Tues., Feb. 5 will debut Feb. 19th at 10/9c.

AMC is moving forward with a third season of 12 episodes of “The Killing.” [EW]

The final season of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” will premiere Mon., March 18 at 8/7c on ABC Family.

Rihanna, Bruno, & Justin Bieber to Perform At Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Kerry Washington & Alicia Keys Among Black Girls Rock Honorees And More!

Get ready for a hot night in December. Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Justin Bieber are schedule to perform later on this year at “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” CBS announced earlier last week.

Rihanna will perform two songs off her upcoming seventh album, including her recent released single, “Diamonds.”

Performers will be joined on stage by Victoria’s Secret Angels Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Candice Swanepoel, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, and Lindsay Ellingson.

“Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” airs December 4, 10/9c on CBS.

  • Julia Roberts is coming to the small screen, sort of. The veteran actress is executive producing a half hour comedy, “The Shrew,” for ABC.”  The comedy only references Williams Shakespeare’s  The Taming of the Shrew in name alone, is about an horrible boss, whose employees try to reign her in.  [THR]
  • “Scandal” star and actress Kerry Washington, singers Alicia Keys and Dionne Warwick, Dr. Hawa Abdi and her daughters and writer Susan L. Taylor will be honored later on this month at this year’s ‘Black Girls Rock” awards ceremony. Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Brandy, and Indie Arie are scheduled to perform during the event. The awards show will air on November 4 on BET, with Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King co-hosting. [BET]
  • “House of Cards” first 13-episode season has a premiere date. The series from director David Fincher (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “The Social Network”), will be available for instant viewing starting Feb. 1, 2013, Netflix announced earlier this week. “House of Cards” is a political drama, based on a BBC miniseries of the same title.
  • Lindsay Lohan’s Elizabeth Taylor biopic for Lifetime, “Liz & Dick,” will premiere on Sunday, November 25, at 9 p.m. ET.
  • MTV announced this week, that  ”MTV Movie Awards” will air live Sunday, April 14, 2013.
  • “106 & Park”revealed the new hosts of the urban series which are: Bow Wow, Ms. Mykie, Paigion and Shorty Da Prince. The hosts began hosting Monday.
  • “American Horror Story: Asylum” premieres Wed., Oct. 17 on FX. Peep the new released trailer below.

Micheal J. Fox is returning to NBC after three decades.

The TV veteran will star in an untitled new series where Fox is a husband and father of three dealing with family, career, and challenges (including Parkinson). The new series is loosely based on the “Family Ties” alum’s life.

NBC has ordered 22 episodes of the new series.

  • The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Sunday, January 13, 2013.
  • VH1 has renewed Single Ladies for a third season, which will debut late 2013.
  • Utah’s station KSL-TV will not air Ryan Murphy new comedy series “The New Normal.” The series follows a gay couple who tries to have a baby via a surrogate. [EW]
  • P!nk, Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys will be featured in the 17th season of “VH1 Storytellers.” The new season bows out this November. [VH1]
  • Good news “Arrested Development” fans! “Arrested Development” which will be aired on Netflix is set to debut next spring. Additionally, the fourth season is schedule to debut more than ten episodes. [EW]
  • “The Killing” may not be dead after all.  The series which was cancelled by AMC network last month may be picked up by Netflix or DirecTV for a third season. [TVLine]
  • ABC Family has picked up a new series called “The Fosters” -a working title -from executive producer Jennifer Lopez. The drama series is about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Will you watch this series? [ABC Family]
  • Syfy is working on remaking a UK sci-fi series “Blake’s 7.” The series followed renegades and criminals who escape from a prison planet and became heroes. [EW]

Weekly TV News: ‘House,’ ‘Parks and Rec,’ and ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’

Hello guys! Atawewe here with your TV News update. I have some good news and bad news. Let’s start with the sad news.

Yup! You guessed it. The TV show “House” will not be returning for another season. Season 8 will mark the end of our (excluding my sister) beloved, “I do not give a shit,” Dr. Gregory House. It was with great regret that FOX’s President announced this news on Wednesday. It has been a great ride for “House,” winning a lot of awards and staying relevant for 8 seasons is no joke. Say goodbye ‘House” fans, this will be the last season of your favorite show. I’m glad the show is ending in its prime, are you? Are you sad, happy, or indifferent about this news?

The good news:

The long awaited biggest night in the music industry, the 54th Grammys Awards show will be live this Sunday. Chris Brown, Rihanna, Coldplay, Adele, and Katy Perry are some of the artists performing this year. Alicia Keys will be joined on stage by Bonnie Raitt to honor the late “At Last” singer, Etta James. Jennifer Hudson will pay tribute to Whitney Houston, who passed away last night. Music biggest night airs on CBS this Sunday at 8/7 c! Are you looking forward to the show as i am?…

…due to the Grammys, “The Good Wife” will return next Sunday. Tune in to find out if Will will be disbarred.

We can all agree that Parks and Recreation is currently having its best season ever. ;) The surprises: the campaign, Ben and Lesile’s relationship and April little acts of kindness has made the season awesome.
