Contestants beware: Howard Stern will return to judge “America’s Got Talent” for another season, NBC announced Monday.
“Howard Stern’s towering presence and opinions on last season’s show as a new judge made a dramatic impact and added a sharper edge to the fascinating developments on stage,” Paul Telegdy, head of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment, said in a statement.
“We know that Howard believes in ‘America’s Got Talent’ — which remains America’s top-rated summer series — and that dedication comes across in a genuine way to our viewers who share his passion about our amazing talent competition.”
The radio personality joined “AGT’s” judging panel after Piers Morgan’s departure in 2012.
Sharon Osbourne has disclosed the real reason she won’t be returning to “AGT.”
The “America’s Got Talent” judge revealed to the New York Post she won’t return due to the maltreatment of her son, Jack. Sharon said Jack was fired from the reality show “Stars Earn Stripes” because of his recently revealed multiple sclerosis.
“I just can’t be fake,” she said. “It’s discrimination, and it was badly handled.”
She explained Jack was removed from the reality series by an email two days before he was scheduled to report to work.
Despite being under contract Sharon told the New York Post,“It’s time to move on. They can’t make me do something I don’t want to do. All they can do is stop me from being a judge on another network for five years.”

What happened to the “24″ movie you ask? According to Kiefer Sutherland, the movie will shoot next summer. ”We didn’t have a script ready for [filming] until very close to the end of ‘Touch,’” Kiefer said at Fox’s Television Critics Association party. Huff Post TV
Is “America Got Talent” judge, Sharon Osbourne leaving “AGT”? According to this tweet, Osbourne said , she is not returning to the show not because of money but because of something else. However, Tuesday, at the Television Critics Association NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said the announcement was unexpected. “This is coming out of context and sort of spontaneously, and we don’t even know what’s going on. And it’s probably much ado about nothing,” Greenblatt said.
NBC has picked up a new series called, “Dracula.” The series is based on Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been cast to play the lead role. Get more deets about the show here.
NBC will roll out episodes of “Go On” (August 8) and “Animal Practice,” (August 12) commercial-free during the Olympics. While six-minutes of ‘Revolution” will air Sat., August 4 at 10:54 p.m. ET.
Kathy Griffins talk show “Kathy” has been renewed for a second season by Bravo.
“Big Rich Texas” has been renewed for a third season. A spin-off of the reality series, “Big Rich Georgia” has been picked by Style network.
Comedy Central’s late-night hosts, John Stewart and Stephen Colbert contracts have been extended. “The Daily Show” was extended through mid-2015, while Colbert’s new agreement is good through the end of 2014. EW
Style network will air CW’s soap drama, “Gossip Girl” beginning Wed., August 15 at 8-11 p.m. ET.
Hi guys. A lot happened in our TV world this week; some shows got cancelled while new shows got picked up.
After a great deal of talk, “Terra Nova” has been cancelled. But FOX will shop the series to other networks. Although, it seems Netflix is interested in picking up the series. I’ll let you know how this goes.
The other show cancelled this week was TLC’s “All-American Muslim.” Some of the cast were told the decision was based on ratings. The show will not return for a second season. Are you sad to see these shows cancelled? Will you watch “Terra Nova” on Netflix?

In other TV news, “America’s Got Talent” premieres with two-hour episodes on May 14 &15. The show will debut its new judge, Howard Stern. While “The Voice” season two two-hour finale will air live Tuesday, May 8 on NBC. “Fashion Star” also premiering on NBC debuts Tuesday, March 13 at 9:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, a couple of “singing competitions” are in the works. First, CW picked up “Star Next Door” which will be produced by Queen Latifah. The celebrities mentors are country singer & songwriter, John Rich and singer, Gloria Estefan. The series premieres this summer.
Also premiering during the summer is ABC’s “Duets.” Kelly Clarkson, Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke, and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland are the mentors and singing partners of “Duets.” These four superstars will scout America for talents., eventually picking two talents each. The mentors and their two performers will perform in front of a studio audience each week. The winner wins a recording contract with Hollywood Records.
