It seems Sue has found herself a new mean cheerleader to replace Quinn.

Newcomer Becca Tobin plays Kitty, who is “like a young Quinn Fabray except she’s not pregnant, manic depressive or in and out of a wheelchair.”

Meanwhile, summer hit Call Me Maybe plays as Brody, Rachel’s NYADA classmate/love interest clears things up about his sexual orientation.

TV Weekly News: ‘Copper’ Debuts, Trouble at ‘Tonight Show with Jay Leno,’ And More.

  • HBO has given the green light to “Family Tree,” an eight-episode documentary-style comedy from filmmaker Christopher Guest. The series centers on a jobless and single man (played by “Bridesmaids” Chris O’Dowd) who begins exploring his heritage after receiving a strange box from a great-aunt. “Family Tree” is set to air simultaneously on the U.K.’s BBC 2. [EW]
  • AMC has renewed its hit reality show “The Pitch” for a second season.
  • T.I.’s Wife, Tiny will host VH1′s first late night talk show called “Tiny Tonight.” The late night talk show will feature Tiny and her friends as they discuss what is happening in the World.   • It seems “The Voice” is changing the gears up a bit. According to Huff Post TV, the coaches – Levine, Shelton, Lo, and Aguilera – can “steal” contestant from each other during a “knockout round.” We are just wondering if “The Voice” got the idea for CBS’ reality series “Big Brother.” “The Voice” bows out Sept. 10 on NBC.
  • THR reports, “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” has fired 20 employees, however it is unclear why the employees were laid off and who were laid off. The Hollywood Reporter also reports Jay Leno who reportedly makes $30 million annually, took a pay cut as well.

Casting Scoop: Andrea Gabriel, Barry Watson, & Liane Balaban Head to CW

 

“Lost” star, Andrea Gabriel will recur in “Gossip Girl” upcoming sixth and final season. Gabriel heads to the CW drama as a businesswoman from Dubai, Variety reports.

Meanwhile, “7th Heaven” vet Barry Watson joins the last season of “Gossip Girl” as a Serena’s (Blake Lively) romantic interest. TVLine reports the actor will recur as a Steven Spence, who is a young entrepreneur.

“Gossip Girl” sixth season debuts Monday, Oct. 8 at 9/8c.

In other casting news,

“Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen will guest-star on the upcoming season of  ”90210.” Jepsen will perform in the show’s Season 5 premiere, (Monday, Oct. 8.) reports TVLine.

Liane Balaban will play Sam Winchester’s (Jared Padalecki) new love interest. Balaban will recur as Amelia, a doctor who is described as a “tragedy-damaged soul.” She will later reveal herself as “a brave, sweet, smart, sarcastic woman.”

“Supernatural” Season 8 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 9/8c on CW.
