TV Weekly News: Micheal J. Fox Returns to NBC, ABC Family Picks Up Jennifer Lopez’s New Series And More.

Micheal J. Fox is returning to NBC after three decades.

The TV veteran will star in an untitled new series where Fox is a husband and father of three dealing with family, career, and challenges (including Parkinson). The new series is loosely based on the “Family Ties” alum’s life.

NBC has ordered 22 episodes of the new series.

  • The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Sunday, January 13, 2013.
  • VH1 has renewed Single Ladies for a third season, which will debut late 2013.
  • Utah’s station KSL-TV will not air Ryan Murphy new comedy series “The New Normal.” The series follows a gay couple who tries to have a baby via a surrogate. [EW]
  • P!nk, Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys will be featured in the 17th season of “VH1 Storytellers.” The new season bows out this November. [VH1]
  • Good news “Arrested Development” fans! “Arrested Development” which will be aired on Netflix is set to debut next spring. Additionally, the fourth season is schedule to debut more than ten episodes. [EW]
  • “The Killing” may not be dead after all.  The series which was cancelled by AMC network last month may be picked up by Netflix or DirecTV for a third season. [TVLine]
  • ABC Family has picked up a new series called “The Fosters” -a working title -from executive producer Jennifer Lopez. The drama series is about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Will you watch this series? [ABC Family]
  • Syfy is working on remaking a UK sci-fi series “Blake’s 7.” The series followed renegades and criminals who escape from a prison planet and became heroes. [EW]
  • Jon Glaser has joined “Parks and Recreation” season 5 as a town councilman and Leslie’s nemesis. [TVLine]
  • “Glee” showrunner, Ryan Murphy tweeted the key arts of the upcoming season of the musical dramedy. Take a look at the posters below.

Weekly TV News: ‘Single Ladies,’ ‘Breaking Bad,’ and More.

It has been the talk for months. But now it is official. “Breaking Bad” last season will be split. The first eight episodes of the season will air this summer, July 15 while the remaining eight episodes will air next summer. AMC’s “Breaking Bad” fifth and final is set to premiere July 15 at 10/9c p.m.

“How To Be A Gentleman” returned last night on CBS. CBS canceled the comedy sitcom last September but decided to air the show on Saturdays at 8/7c p.m.

“Workaholics” third season premieres Tues., May 29, 10:30/9:30c p.m. on Comedy Central

“Dogs In The City” series premiere Wed., May 30, 8/7c p.m. on CBS

The renewal:

“Rules Of Engagement” was picked up for a seventh season last week. The comedy was renewed for a season of 13 episodes. No premiere date has been announced yet, but the comedy seventh season is set to debut in midseason.

The cancellation:

“Dog The Bounty Hunter” was cancelled earlier this week. The A&E has cancelled it long-running reality series.

Weekly TV News: ‘Big Brother,’ ‘Snooki And JWoww’ and more!

Hello sweet people! A lot of goodies were announced last week, but first let’s begin with Cbs.

Cbs revealed its premiere dates for its summer reality shows.

“Big Brother” returns Thursday, July 12, 9 p.m. EST. The competitive reality show will air three times a week, Wed. at  8/7c, Thurs. (Live eviction show) at 9/8c p.m. and Sun., at 8/7c p.m.

Also premiering in the summer is a new dating series called, “3.” The show follows three different single women looking for their one true love. The 90-minute premiere airs Sun., July 22 9 p.m. ET., with an hour-long episodes airing in the following weeks.

“Dogs In The City” also a new reality series by Cbs premieres Wednesday, May 30 at 8 p.m. EST. The show revolves around a dog guru, Justin Silver as he resolves issues between canines and their owners.

Premiering this summer is “Snooki And JWoww,” one of “Jersey Shore” spin-off reality series. “Snooki And JWoww” kicks off Thursday, June 21 at 10 p.m. ET. Below is the preview, take a look.

In other news, Ryan Searcest will remain the host of ‘American Idol” for two more seasons. Searcest new contract will take him through 2014.

The Renewals:

“Keeping Up With the Kardashians”  was renewed for three more seasons earlier last week. “The Lying Game” was also renewed last week for a second season.

“Single Ladies” is back for a second season without Stacey Dash, of course but with a new business woman, Raquel (Denise Vasi). Also returning this summer for a second season is”Awkward.” The second season is set premiere June 28, at 10:30 p.m. ET following “Snooki And JWoww.”
