HBO Renews ‘The Newsroom’ and ‘True Blood’

The verdict is in.

The paid cable network, HBO has ordered a second season of “The Newsroom,” hours after it aired the second episode. However, there is no word when the season will air.

“The Newsroom,” the series created and produced by Aaron Sorkin, the creator of “The West Wing,” and the screenwriter of The Social Network, stars Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill, Dev Patel, John Gallagher, Jr., Olivia Munn, Thomas Sadoski, Sam Waterston, and Jane Fonda.

The hour-long series follows Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) a News Night anchor on ACN, his new executive producer/ex girlfriend Mackenzie MacHale (Emily Mortimer), newsroom staff Maggie (Alison Pill), Jim (John Gallagher, Jr.), Sloan (Olivia Munn), Neal (Dev Patel), Don (Thomas Sadoski), and their boss Charlie Skinner (Sam Waterston) as they tackle the news and their personal relationships. The drama series is centered around a fictional Atlantis Cable News (ACS).

The show airs Sundays, at 10/9c on Hbo.

In addition, Hbo’s Vamps will return for a sixth season, although there is no word when the season will air.

The forthcoming season of “True Blood” will be its first season without creator Alan Ball as a showrunner. Ball, will remain as an executive producer on the show. Season 5 of “True Blood” stars Paquin, Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Alexander Skarsgard, Christopher Meloni, Chris Bauer, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Lauren Bowles, Valentina Cervi, Nelsan Ellis, and more.

“True Blood” currently airs on Sunday, 9/8c on Hbo.

‘True Blood’: Season 5 Latest Previews..

A second trailer of ‘True Blood’ was released earlier today. The trailer confirms some spoilers we already know:

Russell Edgington is back,

There is an uprising against vampires,

Chris Meloni is the authority,

Pam and Eric have hit a rough patch,

And “True Blood” returns June 10, 9/8c p.m. on HBO.

However, we still do not know Tara’s fate. Is she alive? Is she dead? We were left with a cliff-hanger of a dying Tara and a sobbing Sookie  during the finale of the previous season. Let us know what you think by voting in the poll below.

Have you been waiting for a full/spoiler trailer of “True Blood” as I have? Wait no further, because our request was granted.

A full trailer of the upcoming season of “True Blood” was aired tonight. New characters and new lovers were revealed. Alcide and Sookie finally hooked up!

The authority exists after all. “Law And Order: SUV,” Chirs Meloni is the authority.

“The end may come soon. Either Russell will have our heads or the authority will.” Eric tells Pam.

“Human should be farmed like cattle.” Of course, this will only happen in Bon Temps where Vampires rule.

Sookie: “I’m sick of lying and covering and ruining people’s life.” Lafayette says to Sookie, “you’re the angel of death.” So Tara is dead? Or somebody else died.

Lastly, there seemed to be an uprising against the vamps in this trailer. And I’m guessing Jason is the ringleader. What do you think? Share your comments below.

The trailers keep coming! And we love it! HBO released another trailer of the forthcoming season of “True Blood.”

Do I smell trouble/issues? Trust issues to be specific, between Eric and Pam? Oh yes, I do. It seems Eric and Pam’s relationship has hit a brick wall since season four finale.

I can’t say I’m surprised. What do you think? Will this be the tragic end of Pam and Eric’s relationship?

If we know anything about “True Blood,” we know the residents of Bon Temps cannot escape their past. According to the teaser below, it seems a buried villain is back. Russell Edgington!! Alcide warns Sookie about the buried King. Do we sense some tension between Alcide and Sookie? Could Alcide’s love confession create this chilliness?

The series has had it shares of relationship problems, but we wonder what our favorites shapeshifters are worried about. Sam and Luna are still going strong, but are concerned about some “wonderful people”. Waiting sucks, watch the latest promo below.
