Bradley Whitford Heads to ‘Shameless’ And More Casting News

Bradley Whitford has been cast to guest star on “Shameless.”

The paid cable network announced today, “The West Wing” alum will appear in multi-episode arc on “Shameless’s” upcoming season.

Whitford will star as Abraham, “a powerful, well-dressed, sophisticated gay man who is a political activist.”

“Shameless” third season premieres Sun., Jan. 13.

In other casting news…

“The View” co-host, and movie veteran Whoopi Goldberg has been cast in the seventh episode of “666 Park Avenue.” Goldberg will guest star as Drake’s longtime resident who uses hypnosis to help Jane understand the building’s supernatural nature. [EW]

Lisa Edelstein has been tapped to guest star on CBS’ “Elementary.” The “House” alum will appear on the seventh episode of the Sherlock drama as Heather Vanowen, the confident and charismatic CEO of a high-end PR consultancy, TVLine reports. Additionally, Callie Thorne, who stars on “Necessary Roughness,” has been to guest star as Terry D’Amico Gregson’s former partner, on the series. Thorne is set to appear in the drama’s sixth episode. [TVLine]

Daniel Henney (“Three Rivers”) will play Michael Noshimuri, Adam’s brother, who was just released from Penitentiary after serving 15 years on “Hawaii Five-0.” [TV Guide]

“King Of Queens”‘ alum Patton Oswalt has been booked to appear in “Justified’s” forthcoming fourth season. Oswalt will play Bob Sweeney, a local constable who attended high school with Raylan and has been hired by the lawman to watch Arlo’s house. [TVLine]

Robbie Amell (“Revenge”) heads to “1600 Penn” in a recurring role. Amell joins the cast as D.B., a handsome, sweet young man. [EW]

“Up All Night” has booked “Alphas” actress Azita Ghanizada to star as Ava’s new-found best friend. TVLine reports. In addition, Tony Hale, who starred on “Veep” will play Dr. Welborn, Reagan’s flirty dentist. [TV Guide]

‘Scandal’ Hires ‘Grey’s’ & ‘Lost’ Alums And More Casting News

According to Huff Post TV, Steven Bailey, who played Joe the bartender on “Grey’Anatomy” has been booked to guest-star on Shonda Rhimes’ hit series “Scandal.” Although there is no word who Bailey will be playing.

Meanwhile, Broadway alum Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess) is set to recur as Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) ex.  Additionally, Patrick Fischler (Lost, Mad Men), Lorraine Toussaint, Gregg Henry and Ann Cusack will appear in the upcoming season of “Scandal.”

Scandal‘s second season premieres Thursday, Sept. 27 at 10/9c on ABC.

In other casting news…

Enver Gjokaj, “Dollhouse” alum will join CBS’ new legal drama “Made In Jersey” as a U.S. attorney and the ex-boyfriend of Janet Montgomery’s main character. [THR]

“Lost” alum Jeff Fahey has been tapped to guest-star in “Revolution.” Fahey is set to play Hutch, TVLine reports.

Malcolm McDowell has booked a multi-episode arc in “Community”‘s upcoming Season 4. McDowell will play Professor Cornwallis, the college’s new history prof. [THR]

JR Bourne (Teen Wolf) has booked a recurring role on the upcoming second season of “Revenge.” He will play Kenny, a self-assured, Hamptons resident who tries to hide his rough edges behind his fancy clothes and Mercedes. [Deadline]

Samm Levine has joined the cast of NBC’s midseason medical drama “Do No Harm.” Levine will play Josh, an administrative assistant to Dr. Jason Cole (Steven Pasquale). [THR]

Majandra Delfino and Blake Garrett have joined “The Office” spin-off series. Delfino is set to play Fannie Schrute, Dwight’s “pseudo-intellectual lefty” younger sister. While Blake Garrett (New Girl) will play Dwight’s nephew, Cameron.

Ben Lawson has been cast as Jonathan, Chloe’s love interest on  ”Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.” [THR]

Ciarán Hinds (Political Animals) will play the Wildling leader Mance Rayder on “Game of Thrones.” According to EW, the King Beyond the Wall’s only mission is to attack The Wall. [EW]

Chris Klein is will guest-star on “Raising Hope.” The actor will appear as Jimmy’s long-lost brother. [THR]

Michael Mosley (Pan Am) has been booked in a recurring role on ABC’s freshman series “Last Resort.” The “Pan Am” vet will recur as  Chief Engineer Anders. [TV Guide]

Whoopi Goldberg has been tapped to reprise her role as New York Academy of Dramatic Arts dean Carmen Tibideaux in “Glee”‘s fourth season. In addition, ”Glee Project” Season 1 winners, Samuel Larsen and Alex Newell, along with Season 2 winner Blake Jenner, will recur in “Glee”‘s fourth season. [THR]

Weekly TV News: ‘The Killing,’ Fox, & Showtime.

Hi guys, it is Atawewe here with your weekly TV news! A lot of premiere dates were announced this week, among them was Fox’s summer schedule.

The ninth season of ”So You Think You Can Dance” returns Thurs., May 24 at 8 p.m. ET with a two-hours premiere. But there will not be a result show this season. “Hell’s Kitchen” tenth season  kicks off  Tues, May 29 at 8 p.m. ET. “Hell’s Kitchen” then moves to Mon., begins on June 4, at 9 p.m. All-new episodes of “Hell’s Kitchen” will air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Also announced this week was “MasterChef” which is set to premiere immediately after ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ at 9 p.m. ET.

‘Hotel Hell’ debuts this summer on Fox. The new series is set to premiere Mon., June 4 at 8 p.m. ET. The reality show follows Chef Gordon Ramsey as he improves America’s worst and dirtiest hotels.

More Fox news, “Bones” was renewed yesterday for an eighth season. The crime-solving series returns Mon., April 2 at 8/7c on Fox. Below is a sneak peek of the next episode.

The Premieres:

The premiere dates of “Nurse Jackie”, “Borgias”, and “The Big C” were released this week. The shows are scheduled  to premiere April 8 on Showtime “Nurse Jackie” returns 9 p.m. ET, “The Big C’ returns half an hour later at 9:30 p.m. and rounding off the night is the Roman-Catholic family series, “Borgias” at 10 p.m. ET.

“Game of Thrones” season two kicks off Sunday, April 1 at 9/8c on HBO, also premiering Sun., is “The Killing”. Season two premiers 9/8c with a two-hours season premiere on AMC.

Lastly, the dance reality series, “ABDC” returns to MTV on Wednesday.

Juicy news: Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina will make her acting debut on TBS. The 19-year-old will be a recurring cast on Tyler Perry’s sitcom “For Better or Worse.”

Lastly, “The View” co-host, Whoopi Goldberg will guest-star in a couple of episodes on “Glee.” Lindsay Lohan is also schedule to guest-star in an upcoming episode of “Glee.”
